About Me
Olivia Smith has been playing the violin since the age of three when she received her first violin, which was a 1/10 size. Her first official violin lesson lasted for 99 seconds. Olivia is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and holds a bachelors in Music Education. Olivia also holds a standard professional teaching license for Music K-12 instruction in the state of North Carolina. In addition to her music degree, Olivia is trained to teach Suzuki Violin and is registered with the Suzuki Association of the Americas as having taken courses on Suzuki Violin books one, two, and three. Olivia has spent time under the tutelage of renowned violin maker and dealer Dalton Potter (Potter Violins, Silver Springs, MD) learning violin making and repair techniques. In her spare time, Olivia enjoys Irish and Old Time fiddling as well as crocheting. |
